Studio

Thoughtful, not overthought.

We’re curious by nature. We ask questions, try things, and appreciate the details that make good design feel effortless. Sometimes that means experimenting. Other times, it means knowing when to leave things alone.

Approach

Every project starts with the business, not the visuals.

Who it’s for, what it needs to do, and what isn’t working today. The design follows from that.

We lean on typography, space and a few well-made decisions rather than decoration. Simple isn’t the same as plain; it just means every part has a reason to be there.

Ten years of building websites gives you instincts. We trust them, and we test them.

Working together

Good work starts with a conversation.

You know your business, your customers and what you’re trying to do. We bring the design and development experience to get it there.

Feedback is part of figuring things out together, not something either side has to win.

What we hold to

  • Stay curious.

Ask questions, test ideas, and learn from what does not work.
  • Know when to stop.

More is not always better; leave room for what matters.
  • Keep it honest.

No inflated claims, unnecessary explanations, or pretending.
  • Make it matter.

Design should serve the brand, audience, and real goals.

Founder

A little about who’s behind Decoy.

Decoy was founded by Matt White, a designer and developer with a decade of experience across agencies, freelance projects, and consulting.

Outside of websites, he’s usually finding an excuse to ride his bike, adding another book to an ever-growing design collection, or traveling somewhere new. Preferably somewhere with good food, interesting architecture, and a museum or two. He also has a soft spot for furniture he doesn’t need.
